Thus Lord Vishnu visited King in the incarnation of Vaman (Hindu priest)and asked the three step long place on Earth to Live and when Bali kindly allowed him Lord Vishnu had mapped the all three places in two steps and when he asked free place for the third one then Mahabali offered himself in the service of Lord Vishnu. Onasadya - Now comes the impressive most part of Onam celebration is the grand feast called Onasadya, prepared on Thiru Onam. Consisting of 11 to 13 essential dishes it is a nine course meal. Onasadya is served on banana leaves and people sit on a mat laid on the floor to have the meal. Those who want to live this beautiful tradition and have the mouth lingering taste of the spicy food served in Kerala, Onasadya is the memorable time. Vallamkali or the Snake Boat Race - Another enchanting feature of Onam is Vallamkali, the Snake Boat Race, held on the river Pampa. Aranmula Uthrittathi - Another magnificent boat event organised related to Onam.
